1888 - the first manual switching system with five subscriber numbers
1889 - a modern switching system (for that time) with 1200 subscriber numbers was bought and put into service by the Romanian government
1894 - the first underwater cable (crossing the Danube river) bound Braila and Macin
1905 - a submarine telegraphic cable bound Constanta (Romania) and Istanbul (Turkey)
- Augustin Maior, a Romanian physicist engineer proved that multiple telephonic conversations can be simultaneously transmitted on the same line (using carrier currents)
1914 - the first radiotelegraphic connection abroad
1920 - a temporary broadcasting service with 120 W was inaugurated in Bucharest, and later (1939) the power increased to 18 kW
